Software security solution provider MarkAny announced on the 24th that, with the increasing use of electronic documents due to digital transformation, the company is operating a forgery prevention solution that allows for the secure issuance of online documents and verification of their authenticity. It is reported that 85% of domestic certificate-issuing institutions use this solution.
Recently, there was a case where an employee at a domestic bank embezzled hundreds of billions of won using falsified documents. The employee is reported to have committed the crime by forging documents multiple times, even going so far as to falsify official documents and forge the signature of the Chairman of the Financial Services Commission. MarkAny emphasized that document forgery can result in significant economic and social losses to businesses, society, and individuals, making the adoption of solutions to prevent and guard against such activities increasingly important.
MarkAny's forgery prevention solution operates by extracting the original text value of a document and generating a 2D barcode for verification. The content of the document is encrypted and stored in the barcode at the bottom, allowing any forgery to be detected and traced by comparing the stored document information with the barcode.
Kim Eun-hee, head of MarkAny’s Public Information Security Team, stated, “Since MarkAny’s solution can prevent document forgery, it is used by 85% of domestic certificate-issuing institutions. We provide integrated security features, including high-density 2D barcodes, invisible screen watermarks, and printed watermarks, playing a crucial role in ensuring digital security.”
