MarkAny (CEO Choi Go) announced on the 11th that it has acquired the security business unit of Setopia and will enter the DLP (Data Loss Prevention) and secure USB markets. MarkAny is acquiring Setopia's 'SafePC Enterprise,' 'Safe USB Plus,' as well as the development and sales personnel.
Setopia, formerly known as Nixtech, is a first-generation security company. After going public in 2016, the company underwent several changes in major shareholders and core businesses, leading to multiple rebrands as Bionicsgen, Hallyu AI Center, and Midas AI. They also sold off some of their security businesses, including NAC (Network Access Control). In 2022, the company reverted to the name Setopia and has now sold off its DLP and secure USB businesses.
The 'SafePC Enterprise' solution, acquired by MarkAny, is a host-based DLP solution that obtained security function verification from the National Intelligence Service last year. 'Safe USB Plus' is a solution that registers and manages secure USBs and general storage devices while protecting the data stored on secure USBs.
MarkAny, known for its DRM (Digital Rights Management), MDM (Mobile Device Management), and AI video analysis technologies, has demonstrated its competitiveness in the public sector and has supplied solutions to various corporate clients.
MarkAny's CEO, Choi Go, stated, "Through this acquisition, we will strive to provide more stable and comprehensive information security services to our customers. We also aim to offer improved services to existing Setopia customers."
