IT security company MarkAny (CEO Choi Go) announced on the 14th that its mobile device security solution, 'Mobile SAFER 3.0,' has obtained EAL2 grade CC certification. With this certification, MarkAny plans to expand its mobile security business.
The CC (Common Criteria) certification is a system in which the National Intelligence Service’s IT Security Certification Office directly verifies and certifies the security and safety of IT products. It is a mandatory requirement for supplying information security products to government and public institutions and is also used by companies as a standard for verifying the reliability of their products.
Mobile SAFER 3.0 is a refactored version of Aegis SAFER, which received CC certification in 2018. Aegis SAFER was noted as a hybrid mobile security solution that featured both Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Mobile Application Management (MAM) capabilities. It was primarily implemented in national security and defense sectors to prevent the leakage of state secrets and documents through smartphones.
With the newly certified Mobile SAFER 3.0, MarkAny plans to expand its market not only to national institutions but also to private companies that are struggling with industrial technology leaks. The increase in global technological competition has led to more frequent cases of corporate technology leaks through smartphones. MarkAny aims to leverage its expertise in deploying mobile security solutions in defense security to address smartphone-related security gaps across various business environments.
Mobile SAFER 3.0 controls the camera, microphone, and network functions of smartphones brought into company premises, effectively preventing information leaks through photography or recording. In case of smartphone loss, the solution allows for remote screen locking, password changes, and factory resets. It also supports tamper-proofing of applications and monitoring of policy violations.
MarkAny's CEO, Choi Go, stated, "For the past seven years, MarkAny has provided mobile security solutions to various industries that strengthen national competitiveness, such as public and defense sectors, as well as manufacturing and production. With the CC-certified Mobile SAFER, we aim to contribute to the creation of secure office environments free from technology leaks for both domestic and international companies and institutions."
